Professor Paul Hansma <\/strong>received his B.A. from New College, Sarasota, FL, and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. He came to the UCSB Physics Department in 1972 as an Assistant Professor, became an Associate Professor in 1976, and attained full professorship in 1980. Jerry(Zongren) Zhang<\/strong>; Undergraduate research assistant; Email: zongren@ucsb.edu I\u2019m a junior physics student at UCSB. I build apparatus and analyze data for chronic pain and neuroscience studies. I enjoy working with 3-D printers, python, and inspiring researchers. Outside of the lab and classroom I enjoy playing piano and Minecraft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her free time, she enjoys distance running and playing the violin. She is currently trying to teach herself coding in Python<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Javier J. Reveles, Hansma Lab Manager and Study Coordinator. for the Chronic Pain Science & Recovery Group. I bring with me extensive experience in neurotherapy, which includes over 17 years working for Medtronic, PS Medical in Goleta (now Medtronic PLC, Restorative Brain Therapies in Irvine). I’ve earned medical device catheter shunt kit design patent as a co-inventor. The LP shunt is used in treat hydrocephalus. I also served as <\/span>a lab lead and senior R&D Technologist, specializing in experimental test set-up, proctor testing, as well as being a core R&D team member for the MDT Strata valve product portfolio and manufacturing line. I’m now thrilled to be part of the neuroscience team in the physics department at UCSB. Every day, I strive to bring this same enthusiasm to my work and collaboration with Professor Paul Hansma and our team of UC students in the Hansma Physics Research Lab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
